Natural Clarifier

eco blu Natural Clarifier is an all natural chitosan based water clarifier. Chitosan (kyte-O-san) which is a natural polysaccharide derived from chitin (KY-tin). Chitin is the structural material found in certain crustaceans, insect exoskeletons, and the cell walls of fungi. The chitosan used in eco blu Natural Clarifier comes from recycled crab shells. We use the best chitosan available. It has a higher molecular mass than many other chitosan water clarifiers making the product more effective.

Chitosan has been used for more than 30 years to treat drinking water, swimming pools, spas and aquariums. It is natural, nontoxic, non-allergenic, anti-microbial, and biodegradable. It is a long chain polymer and possesses a strong positive charge. Typically, dirt particles are negatively charged. The long polymer chains in chitosan binds (flocculates) these fine dirt particles together into a larger mass. These larger particles are easily and effectively removed during filtration. The binding properties of chitosan also removes scum, oil, phosphorus and heavy minerals resulting in clear sparkling water, creating the ideal pool and spa environment.

Chitosan Clarifier vs. Oil Based Clarifier

Five Big Reasons Why Chitosan Outperforms Oil!

SUN TAN LOTION: Chitosan binds to oils such as sun tan lotions. Oil based clarifiers do not attract or floc oil which is one of the biggest challenges pool and spa owners face when trying to clarify their water.

ENVIRONMENTLY FRIENDLY: eco blu Natural Clarifier is ECO FRIENDLY, made up of recycled crab shells. Oil clarifiers are not 100% biodegradable and can cause skin irritation when in contact with your skin.

CANNOT OVERDOSE:
You cannot "overdose" the chitosan based clarifier. A little more actually works better as opposed to oil based clarifiers that can severely cloud the water if overdosed.

FILTER AID: Chitosan acts as a filter enhancer because it creates a non-sticky film at the filter increasing the likelihood of the filter catching small particulate. The ability to easily wash the film off of your filter makes it extremely unique. On the other hand, the oil based clarifiers are notorious for creating a sticky gum like residue that does capture small particulate but creates a whole different problem when you try and clean your filter.

NO DILUTION: Unlike most oil based clarifiers, there is absolutely no premixing required.
